The Jungle School is a true story in a diary format about young woman dedicated on bringing working education to the Jungle.I like her non judgemental way of writing. The way she seems to be able to put aside her own ego and accept the jungle people in their own culture space. Instead of trying to follow set curriculum she is open to finding a new and better solutions.The story is written in a diary format I'll stop in one hand it's gifts the story raw directness. A feeling off sharing an experience. On the other hand the story can get a little confusing. It is hard to keep track off the particular tribes that she talks about. The jungle people are referred to in a general form and there is no developed characters. They are only at the receiving end though they are active participants in developing the program.This book would be a great read to anyone concerned with the future of our planet. Even more in might be of interest to people homeschooling their children as well as people who are interested in Indonesian culture. Interesting read and I am really happy I took time to read this book. Definitely want to know more about Sekola now.
