I found PUPPY SCHOOL to be a funny, suspenseful and sweet book which would be a good read for a kid in third grade or higher. Or, it would be a great story for parents to read to younger kids. The illustrations are excellent. They really live up to the images I had in my head. The writer apparently was inspired by real dogs. I think he did an excellent job of taking real dogs and creating enjoyable fictional versions. My wife is a grade school teacher and plans to add it to her library.
