Description
Until she was 10, Flynn didn’t even know her real name. Her adoptive parents have always kept her past a secret, but one mysterious note transforms her world and sets her on a path to discover who she really is. How did she get the burn that covers most of her face? And could she really have a twin?Packed off to a boarding school for misfits, Flynn tries to adjust to the unfair rules and stomach-churning soup while making friends with her unusual classmates. All the while, she receives more cryptic messages that slowly bring her closer to her true identity.Bursting with magic, intrigue and humour, School for Nobodies is a delightful debut about the beauty of not fitting in.

This was such a fun, magical, fast read! I found the whole story so intriguing!-From Flynn & her past, the events that happen in the beginning of the book, & the 2 schools beside each other. I also found the circus backstory just as intriguing, & all of our characters-each so different, yet easily identifiable. One thing I didn’t like that comes up a couple times is about a circus itself. This is my personal belief/opinion. But it says there are good circuses & bad-the bad treat the animals horribly, & the good know the animals will perform when they are happy & well cared for. That’s all well & good, but I would never take a circus at their word they are treating them well 1st of all. 2nd of all-it’s besides the point anyway..these are WILD animals, they are not here to happily perform for us. No matter how well you may treat them, they are not happy like that. It’s mentioned again later in a different way- that training a lion is different than taming....I have the same argument lol Kids won’t yet have these strong beliefs for the most part though lol & they will absolutely love this regardless of all of that, I’m sure.I loved all of the kids-even Rule Boy grew on me, & I couldn’t stand him to start with lol. Flynn did get on my nerves some about 3/4 into the book, but I couldn’t be annoyed, because she had every reason & every right to want what she wanted bad enough to be that way. Mr. Gold has my entire heart though. What an amazing character. Feral was next in line for my heart though. Great message about enjoying what’s in front of you, & what you have. Live in the moment, enjoy the present. It made me smile so big when Flynn asks if that’s why they call it the present? Because it’s like a special gift. So good. Amazing cover by the talented Thy Bui too!?
