ISBN 0439022886 - Printed in the U.S.A. No age range specified. Paperback, 8 pages. Part of the Scholastic ReadingLine series. Published by Scholastic Inc. in February 2007. By Jesus Cervantes, illustrated by Joe Cepeda.A young girl's school day is shown in full color illustrations with short captions. The "storyline," such as it is, begins and ends with the girl boarding the school bus, waving, first to her mother and finally to her teacher. The text is very minimal; on each page is the shortest of all possible sentences. "I wave." "I paint." So the storyline is hardly exciting, but as a very early reader, this book has some value. Each page introduces one word, with that word shown in the illustrations. The illustrations, themselves, are a little on the muted side. Lots of color, but almost as if there's a layer of something dulling over them. On the plus side, the images show a racial diverse classroom and even include a student in a wheelchair. This book is really, really thin. At the right price, it's worth having, but it's eight pages! I wouldn't go too far out of my way to get this one.- AnnaLovesBooks
