I spent a lot of time looking for the best edition of Romeo and Juliet, taking into account the notes, layout, and typeface. I looked at Arden, Cambridge, Folger, Norton... you name it, I looked at it. This was by far the best. The notes in this edition are detailed and extensive, way more than the other editions I found. The typeface is easy to read where so many other editions kept the typeface so squished it hurts your eyes. The font, line spacing, and kerning is extremely comfortable to read. And the layout is fantastic. The notes are on the left hand margin so you don't have to keep bouncing down to scan through a paragraph of footnotes. This edition also has some fantastic "extras" that I found to be extremely useful. I feel a little goofy coming over to leave a review on the greatest playwright in history, but after finding this edition, I wanted to sing hallelujahs to the heavens. It is the only version to have everything. I'm off to buy the rest of his plays in Oxford School editions!
